Originally called Newtown Hotel named after King Edward VIII, the name was altered again in the middle 1980’s to the Digger’s Inn.

The building was built in 1911 and was one of the first building to be erected in what is now the “buzzing arts and cultural” Precinct.

“VMCC” comprises of two adjoining buildings, renovated to accomodate both conference and accomodate events. with two dining areas, We’ve obtained a three-star rating with further plans to build a gym and roof top braai and entertainment area.

The building has retained its heritage, proudly taking its place in Newtown and ensuring that the history it hides in its walls is not forgotten but honoured.
